United Nations Treasury - The United Nations Operational Rates of Exchange


The Operational Rates of Exchange listed herein are intended only for the internal record-keeping of the United Nations. No warranty of accuracy can be given and the United Nations shall not assume any responsibility in connection with the present publication of these rates.

The national currency of Cuba is Cuban Peso (CUP) and our system adopts and shows only CUP with Cuba. The convertible peso (CUC) is used by foreigners and tourists in Cuba. The rate of exchange for CUC reported and used by UNDP Country Office is 0.87.

Due to the several tiers of exchange rates of the Venezuelan Bolivar, offices may quote and use rates acknowledged and sanctioned by the Central bank of Venezuela, published at their website http://bcv.org.ve/ applied according to permits, transactions, etc.

Please note that there are changes in the U.N. major currencies including their linked currencies, Iran, Turkey, Venezuela, and Yemen effective 15 August 2018.

Effective from 1 Jan 2018, there are new currencies in Mauritania and Sao Tome Principe.

I. Mauritania: The new currency code for Ouguiya is MRU and the conversion rate is 10 MRO (old Ouguiya)to 1 MRU (new Ouguiya).

II. Sao Tome Principe: The new currency code for Dobra is STN and the conversion rate is 1000 STD (old Dobra) to 1 STN (new Dobra).

Please note that a rate with the newest effective date supercedes the previous or current rate. Also, On monthly revisions, all rates, whether or not changed, are listed. However, for mid-month revision, only the changed currencies will be posted. Please check the schedule below for the ad-hoc mid-month revision dates as well as monthly revision.
